The Avinode International team are catching their breath after a busy and brilliant Avinode Academy Gothenburg last week. We were delighted to host 75 members from over 25 countries from across the globe for two days of industry learning, panel discussions and evening boating adventures on the Gothenburg waters.
Avinode Group CEO, Niklas Berg, warmly welcomed guests with a personal company history and noted how much the industry has changed since he and the co-founders started Avinode a decade and a half ago. It was a time when every company held the bulky business aviation directory on their desks and the three founders were sent an SMS on their cell phones whenever a flight request was sent through the system. Lucky for them, we no longer have this policy considering Avinode now has nearly half a million requests sent through the system a month.
Highlights from the event, included an insightful overview of the Asian Private Jet market from Apertus Aviation’s Ringo Fan, and how technology continues to evolve the industry from VistaJet’s Pedro Nassif and Fly Victor’s Mike Ryan. The afternoon of speakers was closed with an inspiring ‘how to’ from Google’s analytics expert Daniel Waisberg, who let us all know that seeing and using only half the data available to us on our customers is equal to having no data at all (of any use at least). Some may beg to differ, but that debate is for another day.
We would like to thank all of our speakers, panelists and of course all of the members who traveled so far to see us to make the event such a success. We at Avinode learnt so much from you all and look forward to the next time we can get together in one room and thrash out the industry hottest topics. If you weren’t able to make it, watch this space for the next Avinode Academy. Till next time.
